The track starts at Ängesdalslia and connects to the mile track in Tärnaby and then ends at the Vikmyra ski stadium in Tärnaby. The track is pista from mid-February.
The recommended start is at the top of Ängesdalslia, next to the road towards Ängesdal/Björkvatnet, and provides a nice hilly terrain in the mountain birch zone. Beautiful views in all directions are promised. After about 7 kilometres, you can choose to turn around because here it starts to seriously descend towards Tärnaby with a few s-curves and after a while the track joins the mile track, keep right. If you continue, you will come to the ski stadium in Tärnaby. Keep in mind that there are serious downhill runs ahead. Also think about the logistics if you choose to go down to Tärnaby.
The ski track is within the year-round grounds of Vapstens Sami village, which means that reindeer herding is permitted here all year round.
As a temporary visitor and skier, you should have an understanding of the special needs of reindeer husbandry and the reindeer's right to the same area. If you have it, we can continue to operate and thrive in the same mountains in the future as well.
Dogs running loose are not allowed and you as the dog owner are responsible for any damage that may occur if the leash requirement is not followed.
Skating or other skiing outside the ski track should not take place other than in direct connection to the track.
Be especially careful around curves and downhill runs, where visibility may be limited.
We hope that you, as a temporary visitor and skier, understand the special needs of the reindeer husbandry and the reindeer's right to the same area. We can then continue to operate and thrive in the same mountains in the future as well.
