The queen's own line between Laisaliden and Hemavan. From Laisaliden you start at the tree line with a fantastic view towards Norwegian peaks and glaciers. The trail is relatively easy to hike without giving up the feeling of the mountains, which makes it suitable for all hikers, young and old.
Description
In Hemavan, the trail starts at Naturum and the Fjällbotaniska garden. At "Vacker utsikning" a few kilometers up the Kungsleden, the summer trail diverges towards Laisaliden. First down to the bridge over the Mortsbäcken waterfall, then up to Kalfjället.
If you want a slightly easier start, it is preferable to start at the Laisaliden because you are almost immediately up on the calf mountain.
In the summer of 2003, the trail was equipped and inaugurated by the Queen of Sweden. The trail is looked after and managed by the County Administrative Board/Nature Conservation in Västerbotten County. The trail is located in the Vindelfjällen nature reserve.
Cycling
An alternative is to cycle the trail and then follow the country road back. A total distance of about 2 miles. The mountain biking is beautiful, rocky, tricky, in some places quite steep and occasionally you may have to steer the bike. Between Laisaliden and Blå Vägen it is about 4 km. Between the village of Laisholm and Laisaliden there is a steep and curvy asphalted hill with a drop of just over 200 meters in 2 km.
Remember to consider hikers and other users!
Camp
This stretch is a perfect beginner's tour for those who want to hike and possibly spend the night on the mountain. There are small streams here where you can drink water and wash yourself. Bring the tent and enjoy the silence of the night on the mountain.
